DCLM Sincere Milk 24 February 2024 — Blow The Trumpet – Part 1
DCLM Sincere Milk 24 February 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Blow The Trumpet – Part 1
Topic: Blow The Trumpet – Part 1
Text: Judges 6:33-40
33Then all the Midianites and the Amalekites and the children of the east were gathered together, and went over, and pitched in the valley of Jezreel.
35And he sent messengers throughout all Manasseh; who also was gathered after him: and he sent messengers unto Asher, and unto Zebulun, and unto Naphtali; and they came up to meet them.
36And Gideon said unto God, If thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said,
37Behold, I will put a fleece of wool in the floor; and if the dew be on the fleece only, and it be dry upon all the earth beside, then shall I know that thou wilt save Israel by mine hand, as thou hast said.
38And it was so: for he rose up early on the morrow, and thrust the fleece together, and wringed the dew out of the fleece, a bowl full of water.
39And Gideon said unto God, Let not thine anger be hot against me, and I will speak but this once: let me prove, I pray thee, but this once with the fleece; let it now be dry only upon the fleece, and upon all the ground let there be dew.
40And God did so that night: for it was dry upon the fleece only, and there was dew on all the ground.
Key Verse: “But the Spirit of the LORD came upon Gideon, and he blew a trumpet; and Abiezer was gathered after him.” Judges 6:34
Message
The trumpet is a brass instrument commonly used for music. It is used to call the attention of people to a gathering or an assembly. The trumpet serves multiple purposes also. Gideon was known as a mighty man of valour and the Lord used him to fight and deliver the children of Israel from the hands of their enemy. According to our Bible passage, we saw how the Spirit of the Lord came upon him and he blew the trumpet to gather the men of war to battle.
Today, the trumpet is used by the choir as a musical instrument to minister to the lives of people, but beyond the physical, the trumpet spiritually represents our duty to tell others about Christ. We are to blow the trumpet of the gospel and sound the warning to all people of the danger of hell fire. Blowing the trumpet and calling people to repentance should be our daily duty. We must ensure that every day we win a soul for Christ. Remember, the last trumpet will soon sound, and Jesus will come to take His friends to heaven. You must be ready for this great event.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to sound the warning of the danger of hell to all my friends today.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
