Text: John 15:9-15
9As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
12This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Message
Life is a great gift from God and it is cherished and precious to all. Friendship is also a gift; while some people have good friends others do not have good friends. Friends are supposed to be loving and caring for one another. As human beings, there are times that friends can disappoint one another. However, there is a Friend Who loves genuinely and can never disappoint, His name is Jesus Christ of Nazareth. The Bible says that He loves us so much that He laid down His life to save us from our sins. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

No matter how difficult things may be, Jesus will never leave nor forsake His friends. He loves you dearly and wants you to trust Him for your life’s journey. He laid down His life so that you can have a place in heaven. Accept Him as your Friend today and you will never be disappointed; He will not abandon you.

Prayer for today: Father, please help me to cherish Your friendship and stay close to You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
