DCLM Higher Everyday 16 May 2024 — Fall Prevention
Topic: Fall Prevention
Text: Jude 1:20-25
20But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
22And of some have compassion, making a difference:
23And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
24Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,
25To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.
Key Verse: “Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen” (Jude 1: 24-25).
Message
Experts in child training hold that fall prevention is about adjusting children’s environments so they’re safe as they grow. Fall prevention is a critical topic as one journeys through life. It is equally important for your successful Christian journey to heaven. Temptations are on the way but God can keep you from falling.
To avoid falling, build up yourself on faith in Christ and ensure you are in the love of God. A time-tested method for avoiding a fall is to remain faithful to Jesus Christ at home, school, in the neighbourhood or when you are far from Christian faithful. The followings are also helpful tips for fall avoidance: (1) Read your Bible and pray every day (2) Meditate on God’s Word daily and not on your weaknesses or failures. (3) Recall God’s past acts to bolster your faith. (4) Be patient and hold on to God’s promises. (5) Maintain regular fellowship with God’s people and avoid sources of temptations. (6) Use every opportunity to wisely preach the gospel of peace. Beloved, if you do these things you will never fall.

Prayer for today: Almighty God, please uphold me, in Jesus’s name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
