Text: Daniel 2:14-19
14Then Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
16Then Daniel went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would shew the king the interpretation.
17Then Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions:
18That they would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
19Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven.

Message
Daniel and his friends were in a strange land but that did not affect his godly life. Something happened and the King was about to kill a lot of people which would have included Daniel. Daniel then decided to seek the face of God and the decree of death was cancelled. When he heard of the King’s decree, he didn’t cry in fear like many children would do. He was bold enough to go in to the king and speak with him concerning the matter after which he went to his friends.

If Daniel had kept bad company, what do you think they would have told him? This is why it is important to have good friends. After then, he prayed in the night and God revealed to him the answer to the King’s matter and there was no need for anyone to die. Do you desire to be outstanding, pray and ask God to help you so that you can be a Daniel too.

Prayer for today: Lord, make me a godly child like Daniel.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
