13Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
14Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.
15Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

Message
Friends provide great companionship and comfort to one another. Do you have a best friend whom you love very much? Your best friend might have helped you in many ways and you too would have been nice to him or her. It is a thing of joy to have a dependable and trustworthy friend. The friend that fits into this picture is Christ. He loves you more than anyone in the world and wants to be your best friend.

Have there not been times you feel very lonely, probably because mummy is no longer alive or your parents are not together? Are you being rejected by your friends or family members because of a deficiency that you have? There is good news for you. Jesus loves you just the way you are and He’s ready to be your friend so that He can make you happy always and grant you the desires of your heart. All you need to do is to invite Him into your heart and ask Him to be your friend and He’ll do that. He will also be your Saviour from sin.

Prayer for today: Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me so much. I invite you into my heart and life today and I ask that you’ll be my best friend.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
