Text: 2 Timothy 2:1-4
1Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
3Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
4No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Key Verse: “And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also” (2 Timothy 2:2).
Message
A family had a priceless treasure, a vase which had been passed down along several generations. One day, the parents left the house, leaving the teenagers at home. As they returned, they were met at the door by sad and tearful children with a sad report. “Mother, Father … you know that priceless heirloom our family passes down one generation to the next … well, our generation just dropped it.” The gospel is a priceless treasure that had been passed down from one generation to another since the days of the apostles. No generation should drop the gospel.

The gospel baton must be passed on to others through diligent instructions, intentional teachings and exemplary living. The gospel message must be taught to the next generation clearly, constantly, and courageously. It must be taught at home, in the schools and in the church. The devil and the world are trying to drown the voice of the gospel, but if you are a child of God you need to enlist in the army of the Lord to pass on this precious and life-saving gospel to others.

Challenge: The gospel is a priceless treasure.
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to spread the gospel light.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
