DCLM Sincere Milk 7 November 2024 — Thank You!
DCLM Sincere Milk 7 November 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Thank You!
Topic: Thank You!
Text: Romans 6:17-19
17But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
18Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.
19I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Key Verse: “But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.” Romans 6:17
Message
People have many reasons for saying “thank you” to one another. But the depth of the “thank you” people say depends on how valuable the help or gift they received is. Of course, there are some people who never cared to say thank you no matter the extent of the care and love they received. That is not a good attitude. It is sad that many live daily enjoying the care and provision of God, but never remembered to say thank you to Him.

Our Bible passage shows us the most important reason why we should be thankful to God. How often do you thank God for saving you from sin and hell? What do you do to show Jesus that you are thankful to Him for suffering to make a place for you in Heaven? Make today a “Thank you” day. The way to say thank you to Jesus is by keeping yourself pure and righteous wherever you go and by bringing others to Him as you tell them of His love for them. Jesus, thank you for saving me from sin.

Prayer for today: Lord, I thank You for saving me from sin.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
