2Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;)
3That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
Key Verse: “Honour thy father and mother, which is the first commandment with promise” (Ephesians 6:2).
Message
The Bible warns that one of the signs of the end time will be an increase of children disobeying their parents. Some children believe that they have come of age and as a result do not see the need to obey or respect their parents. Others, as a result of their little achievement or peer pressure, fall into this last-day vices. You should bear in mind that God used your parents to bring you into the world. They sacrifice time, energy, and efforts to meet your needs and wants. They deserve all the respect you can give. Parents are your care-givers here on earth and are responsible for your wellbeing.

Honoring your parents include obeying them and running errands for them, listening to them, showing gratitude to them, not talking back, apologizing when you are wrong, responding with good body language, etc. Even when your opinions differ, you should honor them still and politely make your viewpoint known. Remember that honoring or respecting your parents is something God commands and will reward those who obey.
Quote: Parents are your caregivers
Challenge: God commands obedience to parents.
Prayer for today: Lord, help me to always honor my parents.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
