DCLM Higher Everyday 15 January 2024 — Miracle Through The Messiah
DCLM Higher Everyday 15 January 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Miracle Through The Messiah
Topic: Miracle Through The Messiah
Text: Acts 3:1-12
1Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour.
3Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms.
4And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said, Look on us.
5And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
6Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
7And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
8And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.
9And all the people saw him walking and praising God:
10And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.
11And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon’s, greatly wondering.
12And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
Key Verse: “Then Peter said, silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee; In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Acts 3:6).
Message
God works miracles wherever He finds men and women of faith. Peter and John had not for long received the Holy Ghost in baptismal measure on the day of Pentecost when they were confronted with the challenge of a man who was lame from his mother’s womb. They applied their great faith in the name of the Messiah and he was healed instantaneously (Acts 3:6-8). What a wonder! Hear what the man of faith, Dr. John G. Lake said, “Little faith, little healing; much faith, much healing; no faith, no healing. That is the principle.” Friend, grow your faith.

Just like the lame man, we all have areas in our lives where we feel stuck or broken, but there’s always hope through the Messiah which may sometimes come in unexpected ways; hence, our hearts must be opened to divine encounters. The Messiah still performs miracles today. He can heal you and use you to heal others. Moreover, He can save your loved ones from sin, which is the greatest miracle. The name of Jesus holds immense power- use it and expect miracles.
Quote: The Messiah still performs miracles
Challenge: Meet Jesus, the miracle worker.
Prayer for today: Dear Jesus, heal me and my loved ones.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
