DCLM Sincere Milk 22 February 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Serving Others
Topic: Serving Others
Text: Philippians 2:19-23
19But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know your state.
20For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.
21For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ’s.
22But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.
23Him therefore I hope to send presently, so soon as I shall see how it will go with me.
Key Verse: “But ye know the proof of him, that, as a son with the father, he hath served with me in the gospel.” Philippians 2:22
Message
Paul was the spiritual father of Timothy whose biological father was a Greek. Young Timothy gave himself to the service of God under the ministry and leadership of apostle Paul. Timothy became a friend of Jesus through his grandmother Lois and his mother, Eunice. He loved the Lord and was willing to serve Him so he joined himself with the great apostle in God’s service. Timothy proved to be a dependable and trustworthy servant of God whom Paul relied greatly on. He did not let Paul down neither did God’s work suffer in his hands.

God is still looking for boys and girls who will give their lives to His service. There are lots of things that you can do for God- praying for others, helping the weak in faith by encouraging them through visitation and phone calls (with your parents’ permission), giving to meet the needs of other children. You can also sing in the choir, do cleaning of the church premises and helping in other areas during Church services. Jesus wants you to give Him your life (accept Him as your Saviour and Lord) before giving Him your service. God also wants you to serve others in His name. Do not disappoint Him.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, please, help me to serve You faithfully.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
