DCLM Higher Everyday 27 February 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Help the Helpless
Topic: Help the Helpless
Text: Isaiah 41:13-19
13For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
15Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.
16Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.
17When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them.
18I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.
19I will plant in the wilderness the cedar, the shittah tree, and the myrtle, and the oil tree; I will set in the desert the fir tree, and the pine, and the box tree together:
Key Verse: “For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee” (Isaiah 41:13).
Message
During the Second World War, there was a systematic extermination of the European Jews. This mass killing is called the Holocaust. It took place from January 30, 1933, to May 8, 1945. During this sad period, about six million Jews were murdered by Nazis Germany, many of them in gas chambers. As many as 1. 5million of the victims were children. The cheering news is that a Polish woman named Irena Sendler risked her life to rescue more than 2,500 Jewish children from the Warsaw ghetto. She smuggled them out often hidden in suitcases or toolboxes and placed them with Catholic families, hospitals, schools or in convents in cities such as Warsaw, Turkowise and Lublin. Sendler was among the few bold and loving people that God used to render help to the helpless during this dark period of our human history. God says, “Fear not; I will help thee.”

Beloved, Jehovah Almighty is still our Helper. Cast your care upon Him. Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day. Pray against mass killings all over the world.
Quote: Jehovah Almighty is still with us
Challenge: Everything must be done to prevent another Holocaust.
Prayer for today: Oh God, be my Helper, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
