DCLM Higher Everyday 6 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiAttitude Of Appreciation

Topic: Attitude Of Appreciation

Text: Luke 17:11-19

11And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

12And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, which stood afar off:

13And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

14And when he saw them, he said unto them, Go shew yourselves unto the priests. And it came to pass, that, as they went, they were cleansed.

15And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

16And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

17And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

18There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

19And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Key Verse: “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back and with a loud voice glorified God; And fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks: and he was a Samaritan” ( Luke 17:15,16).

Message

Attitude of Appreciation is a winning attitude. We need to daily put on an attitude of appreciating God for what He has done for us in the past, present and what He is still going to do in our lives. God expects us to appreciate Him so that He can perfect all that concerns us and make His glory impact our lives. The text under consideration today, tells us about ten lepers that came to Christ for healing. Christ gave them an instruction on how they could be cleansed of their leprosy by telling them to go and to show themselves to the Priest. On their way to show themselves to the Priest, they were all healed without exception. But only one, a Samaritan, out of the ten returned to Christ to appreciate and glorify Him for the healing. Christ commended him.

The other nine failed to go back to appreciate Christ. Are you like the appreciative Samaritan or one of the nine ingrates? The more we appreciate God, the more we get blessed. Friend, learn to appreciate any act of kindness you are shown.

Quote: God expects us to appreciate Him

Challenge: Learn to appreciate God at all times.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me the heart to always appreciate you.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
