DCLM Higher Everyday 19 April 2025 — Receive Water From The Rock

DCLM Higher Everyday 19 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiReceive Water From The Rock

Topic: Receive Water From The Rock

Text: 1 Corinthians 10:1-4

1Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

Key Verse: “He clave the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink as out of the great depths” (Psalms 78:15).

Message

Water from the rock, also known as spring, is adjudged the healthiest and in hot demand, across the world because it has been tested and confirmed to be pure. It is free from pathogens and contaminants, rich in key minerals and provides vital nutrients, as it moves through the body, when taken. The rock through which the water originates plays a significant role because without it, there would be no spring of water. The Israelites “drank of the spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.”

Contextually, Christ, the figurative Rock says, “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life” (John 4:14). The importance of the subject matter made Jesus to stand and cry out saying, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink” (John 7:37). Unfortunately, many are not aware or bothered about drinking from the living water. Go to the Lord and partake of the living water through genuine repentance.

Quote: Partake of the living water

Challenge: No other Saviour besides Christ.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me the living water.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
