DCLM Higher Everyday 20 April 2025 — The Redeemer Is Risen

DCLM Higher Everyday 20 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiThe Redeemer Is Risen

Topic: The Redeemer Is Risen

Text: Mark 16:1-7

1And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

2And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

3And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

4And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

7But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

Key Verse: “And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him” (Mark 16:6)

Message

In Mark 16:1-7, we witness the most significant event in human history—the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Despite the sorrow and despair of seeing their Lord crucified, the women who came to the tomb on the third day were met with an astonishing sight: the stone rolled away and the tomb empty. The angelic proclamation, “He is risen,” changed everything. The Redeemer, who had been crucified and buried, had conquered death and risen from the grave, just as He had promised. This pivotal moment in history brings hope and joy to all who believe, for it signifies the victory of life over death and the fulfillment of God’s plan of redemption. Happy Easter Sunday!

The work of salvation for mankind is definite and has been completed. What seems to be the only issue for the multitude of unsaved people is that – “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” Jesus is counting on us to preach the good news.

Quote: The victory of life over death

Challenge: Jesus is counting on you to preach His resurrection.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, help me live in the reality of your resurrection.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
