DCLM Higher Everyday 26 April 2025 — The Danger Of Delay
DCLM Higher Everyday 26 April 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Danger Of Delay
Topic: The Danger Of Delay
Text: Genesis 19:15-17
15And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
17And it came to pass, when they had brought them forth abroad, that he said, Escape for thy life; look not behind thee, neither stay thou in all the plain; escape to the mountain, lest thou be consumed.
Key Verse: “And while he lingered, the men laid hold upon his hand, and upon the hand of his wife, and upon the hand of his two daughters; the LORD being merciful unto him: and they brought him forth, and set him without the city” (Genesis 19:16).
Message
Many people have missed their scheduled flights because they wasted so much time at home. They postponed action on preparing for the trip and instead gave more time to things that might not be important and urgent, or important but not urgent. Hence John L. Mason declared that, “When a procrastinator has finally made up his mind, the opportunity has always passed by.” Do not linger or delay.

Youths who linger or postpone their salvation, should know that they are taking a very serious risk. Lot was lucky the angels laid hold on him and pulled him out of the doomed Sodom. The Lord is doing the same thing today. He is appealing to you to repent before it becomes too late. The blood of Jesus is still effective and still saving souls today. Do not linger or delay. Those who failed to come out of Sodom were destroyed by fire because of their sinful lifestyles and passion for continued disobedience to the voice of God. Come out of Sodom. Come out of Egypt. Repent and believe the gospel now!
Quote: Do not linger or delay
Challenge: A stitch in time saves nine.
Prayer for today: Lord, make me wise to obey You promptly.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
