DCLM Sincere Milk 18 June 2025 — Do Not Turn To Folly
TOPIC: Do Not Turn To Folly.
TEXT: Psalms 85:8-11
KEY VERSE: “I will hear what God the LORD will speak: for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.” Psalm 85:8
MESSAGE
In Biblical term, a fool is not necessarily someone with a small intellect. Rather, a fool is someone who lacks the proper fear or respect for God. “Folly” stands for words and actions that are against the law of God and end in regret. A foolish person is therefore one who goes in the wrong way in life. It is a foolish person that turns from what is godly to what is bad. In our Bible passage, we are told that it is wise to hear and obey what the Lord God has said. Those who do so, receive the peace of God in their souls.

The greatest form of folly is that of turning away from the peace Jesus gave to us when we surrendered our lives to serve Him. Be a wise child. Make up your mind to always pay attention to the message when you read or are taught the word. That is the only way to escape foolishness that leads to hell. It is also the only way to enjoy the favour and the peace of God here on earth.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to hear Your word, accept and obey it, so that I can enjoy Your peace in all my doings.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
