Key Verse: “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God” (Ephesians 5:21).
Message
Peter Scholtes, while serving as a parish priest at St. Brendan’s in Chicago in the 1960s wrote this song;
“We are one in the Spirit,
we are one in the Lord,
And we pray that all unity may one day be restored”
Apostle Paul encourages believers to embrace a life of mutual submission, characterised by humility, gratitude, and mutual regard. This approach contradicts worldly mind-set that value domination and self-assertion. In worship, believers are urged to praise and thank God via psalms, hymns, and Spirit-inspired songs. This submission is based on reverence for Christ and is promoted in many areas of life, including marriage, church, and daily interactions.

Husbands and wives are called to submit to one another, fostering a partnership based on mutual respect and love. Church leaders and congregations are encouraged to work collaboratively, recognizing each member’s unique contributions to the body of Christ. In daily interactions, we’re encouraged to prioritize the needs and well-being of others, following Christ’s example of serving. We provide love, humility, and understanding to the community by pursuing this calling.
Quote: Prioritize the needs and well-being of others.
Challenge: Live in unity and love towards one another.
Prayer for today: Dear Holy Spirit, empower us to daily fulfil this calling. Amen.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
