DCLM Higher Everyday 4 July 2025 — The Father’s Faithfulness
DCLM Higher Everyday 4 July 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Spirit-Led Steward
Topic: The Father’s Faithfulness
Text: 1 Corinthians 1: 1-9
1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and Sosthenes our brother,
3Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
4I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ;
5That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge;
6Even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
7So that ye come behind in no gift; waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ:
8Who shall also confirm you unto the end, that ye may be blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Key Verse: “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord” (1 Corinthians 1:9).
Message
It is hard to understand the faithfulness of our God, Jehovah. When a child of His thinks that he has provoked Him to anger and would never welcome him back to His fold, like the prodigal son, he is received with love. Hence a writer said that, “God’s faithfulness is not dependent on our faithfulness, but our faithfulness is dependent on his.”

Apostle Paul in our text emphasizes God’s grace and faithfulness, establishing the foundation of our faith in the context of God’s unwavering commitment. God is faithful not only in our salvation but also in His calling upon us for service. He provides spiritual gifts for the church’s edification and fruitful service, and promises to keep us blameless for Christ’s glorious return. The Father’s faithfulness is our anchor, the rock on which our faith stands. As we face life’s challenges, we can be rest assured that our God is faithful to His promises. Take comfort in His words, let them strengthen, encourage, and motivate you to live a life that exalts the One who is forever faithful.
Quote: The Father’s faithfulness is our anchor.
Challenge: Take comfort in God’s words, He’s ever faithful.
Prayer for today: Dear God, I thank You for Your faithfulness unto me.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
