DCLM Sincere Milk 8 July 2025 — Do As Thou Hast Said
DCLM Sincere Milk 8 July 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Do As Thou Hast Said
Topic: Do As Thou Hast Said
Text: 2 Samuel 7:22-29
22Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
24For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel to be a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.
25And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.
26And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.
27For thou, O LORD of hosts, God of Israel, hast revealed to thy servant, saying, I will build thee an house: therefore hath thy servant found in his heart to pray this prayer unto thee.
28And now, O Lord GOD, thou art that God, and thy words be true, and thou hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
29Therefore now let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may continue for ever before thee: for thou, O Lord GOD, hast spoken it: and with thy blessing let the house of thy servant be blessed for ever.
Key Verse: “And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish it for ever, and do as thou hast said.” 2 Samuel 7:27
Message
Ruth prepared very well for her examinations and she believed God for an excellent result. But when the results came out: she failed. She was surprised that despite her preparation and trust in the word of God that says “we shall be the head and not the tail”, things still turned out this way. Before her faith in God’s promises begin to fade, her mom came into her room to let her know that God’s promises are never meant to fail and that God will always do as He hath said.

The following week, the school announced a re-sit for those that failed and this time around, with a scholarship opportunity. Ruth trusted God and sat for the exams, and she emerged the overall best student and was given a scholarship. Our God is a God Who exceeds our expectation when we put our trust in Him. The answer may not come the way you are expecting, but He will definitely do as He has promised us. Relax, play your part, then trust God as you pray to do as His word has said.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, let Your promises concerning me be fulfilled.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
