Text: Matthew 7:7-11
7Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
10Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Message
There are two popular sayings that goes thus, “Opportunity comes but once”, and “when preparation meets opportunity, result follows”. Opportunity do not come if you don’t go for it and grab it. This is the reason why children should seize the opportunity to make hay while the sun shines. Use every given opportunity to achieve your goals and dreams in life.

According to our Bible passage, Jesus Christ gave an open request to all His friends that if you ask, you shall receive. You are free to ask what you want from God in prayer. Prayer is the most powerful weapon you can use to have access to the throne of grace. Remember, you cannot get through to the throne of grace with dirty hands as the prayer of a sinner is an abomination to God. Therefore, you have an opportunity to receive salvation from sin and accept Jesus into your life. You also have the open door to ask in prayers because “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” (Mark 11:24)
Grab the opportunity to ask whatever you desire from God and believe that you will receive speedy answers to your requests.

Prayer for today: I pray that as I ask whatever I will in prayers, I will receive speedy answers in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
