Text —Genesis 6:13-22
13And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
15And this is the fashion which thou shalt make it of: The length of the ark shall be three hundred cubits, the breadth of it fifty cubits, and the height of it thirty cubits.
16A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it.
17And, behold, I, even I, do bring a flood of waters upon the earth, to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breath of life, from under heaven; and every thing that is in the earth shall die.
18But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
19And of every living thing of all flesh, two of every sort shalt thou bring into the ark, to keep them alive with thee; they shall be male and female.
20Of fowls after their kind, and of cattle after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after his kind, two of every sort shall come unto thee, to keep them alive.
21And take thou unto thee of all food that is eaten, and thou shalt gather it to thee; and it shall be for food for thee, and for them.
22Thus did Noah; according to all that God commanded him, so did he.

Message
God told Noah that He was going to put an end to the whole human race because the world was full of wickedness and evil deeds. He was then commanded to build an ark for those who would come in to be saved. God gave the instruction because He was going to destroy the whole world. Noah was given a huge task. He had to build an ark that would take many, many years to complete.

Not only that, God gave Noah specific detailed instructions on how to build the ark. In fact, the best architect in the world may not be able to design such wonderful ark. Did Noah follow God’s instructions? Yes of course, he did. He did not add or remove from what he was asked to do. He spent about one hundred and twenty years building the ark.
From creation till the time Noah built the ark, there had never been rain. He could have asked so many questions from God, but he did not. He was a righteous man who believed the word of God. He showed us what an unquestionable obedience should be. No wonder, he alone with his family was saved alive. Obedience pays. You must follow Noah’s example and obey God’s word.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me grace to always obey Your word.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
