DCLM Sincere Milk 8 August 2025 — The Seed
Topic: The Seed
Text: John 12:23-26
23And Jesus answered them, saying, The hour is come, that the Son of man should be glorified.
25He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.
Key Verse: “Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.” John 12:24
Message
Do you know that seeds grow to become big trees and produce fruits? The seed, when planted under the right conditions, has the power to grow and multiply. When a seed is planted and hidden beneath the ground, it dies off, and a new plant grows from it, leaving behind the shell that once contained it, a new life breaks free from the seed and begins to grow and multiply. The seed, if kept or hidden, has little value, but its value becomes great when it is surrendered to a farmer to plant.

Then, you must surrender your heart and life to Jesus to be changed and transformed. This begins with genuine repentance from all sins and faith in Jesus as your Saviour. Thereafter, you must daily yield yourself to Jesus and allow Him to guide and lead you. Everything that you need is in Jesus. Joseph and Ruth surrendered their lives to God. Prayer for today: Dear Father, I give my heart to You, rule and reign over my life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
