Text: Revelation 22:17-21
17And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
19And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
20He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.
21The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Key Verse: “… If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life…” (Revelation 22:18,19).
Message
The warning against the modifications of God’s commandment is replete in the Scriptures. “What thing soever I command you, observe to do it: thou shalt not add thereto, nor diminish from it” (Deuteronomy 12:32). In the last book of the Bible, the Lord in emphasizing His character of infallibility and unchangeableness charged everyone not to add to or subtract from the Word of God. He expects that the commandments He has given to man must retain the original truth, not to be revised by addition or subtraction. Dear youth, avoid any assembly where the Word of God is being distorted.

The untold suffering mankind is experiencing today is the inevitable outcome of the mutilation of the Law of God. For instance, God’s original plan for the marriage institution has undergone several modifications to accommodate human ideologies like polygamy, homosexuality, bestiality, gay wedlock and other atrocious anomalies. The removal of biblical landmarks flouts the Lord’s unchangeableness and nothing but misery would follow such action. Run away from any form of disobedience to God’s word.

Challenge: Don’t join the multitude to modify the word of God.
Prayer for today: Oh God, help me not to add or remove from Your word, in Jesus’ name.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
