DCLM Higher Everyday 3 September 2025 — God’s Marvellous Grace

DCLM Higher Everyday 3 September 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — God’s Marvellous Grace

Topic: God’s Marvellous Grace

Text: Titus 2:11-14

11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Key Verse: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men” (Titus 2:11).

Message

  1. C. Sproul says, “The cross was a glorious outworking of the grace of God, by which the Father commissioned the Son to make full satisfaction so that sinners might be saved with no sacrifice of God’s justice.” True grace is divine favour made available to all men at Christ’s expense. All a sinner needs to do to experience this favour and make heaven his final home is to reject sinful works and receive Christ through faith as his personal Lord and Saviour.

The grace of God is the empowering force that enables us to overcome our limitations and live a life of purpose and fulfillment. Were it not for the grace of God, no one would qualify to be a Christian. Grace is the bridge that carries us from our brokenness to His wholeness. Christian youths must know that true grace does not leave us in sins, but it takes away sins and empowers us to deny ungodliness and worldly lust in this present world. True grace always produces vigilance rather than complacency; it always produces perseverance rather than indolence.

Quote: Grace does not leave us in sins

Challenge: Embrace the grace of God.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me abundant grace to leave sins and to live for you.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
