Text: Hebrews 6:9-15

9But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

10For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

Key Verse: “That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises” (Hebrews 6:12).

Message

Faith and Patience are two inseparable companions. Abraham, a man of faith, patiently endured till he obtained the promise of a son from God. Faith is the complete trust/confidence in God, while patience is the ability to tolerate delay. God made the promise of Isaac’s birth to Abraham but the promise came to fulfillment in God’s time, after 25 years. Abraham was patient while he waited for the manifestation of God’s promise; he had confident assurance that God would do what He said He would do.

Faith speaks the desired outcome, in accordance with God’s word, and believes that it will come to pass. Patience is an inner force that empowers the believing youths to remain constant and steadfast, no matter what happens around them to challenge their faith. Patience is important in your life, it will enable you to remain consistent, especially in the space between you receiving the promise by faith and the manifestation of the promise in your life. As you start this day, ask God for faith and patience to receive all He has for you today.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
