Topic: The Christian’s Boosts Part 5 – Patience
Text: 2 Peter 1:5-9
5And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
8For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Key Verse: “And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness.” 2 Peter 1:6
Message
Patience is a desirable boost for victorious Christians living. Just like superheroes train to become stronger, we grow in patience to become more like Jesus. Patience or perseverance is ability to be calm, tolerant and endure suffering. It is the character of God that every child of God must possess.

Once upon a time, there lived a boy named Tim. He loved Jesus deeply and was always preaching the gospel. This exposed him to ridicules from sinners, but he remained steadfast. Tim prayed and read his Bible every morning, responding to unkindness with kindness. One day, things got even harder. Kids at school bullied Tim because he would not join them in doing bad things. He continued serving God wholeheartedly, helping others and sharing Jesus’ love. Over time, the people in his village saw his untiring faith and began to respect him. Tim’s patience showed God’s love and grace and won souls to Christ.
Christians must strongly believe that even in tough times, God is with us. With patience and trust, we can overcome anything and shine for Jesus. Let us embrace patience as our great weapon to grow closer to God!

Prayer for today: Lord, please help me to be patient to endure hardship for Christ’s sake.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
