Topic: Why The Sheep Are Vulnerable
MEMORY VERSE: “Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, everyone for his gain, from his quarter” (Isaiah 56:11).
TEXT: ISAIAH 56:9-12
9All ye beasts of the field, come to devour, yea, all ye beasts in the forest.
11Yea, they are greedy dogs which can never have enough, and they are shepherds that cannot understand: they all look to their own way, every one for his gain, from his quarter.
12Come ye, say they, I will fetch wine, and we will fill ourselves with strong drink; and to morrow shall be as this day, and much more abundant.
Message
Sometimes ago, a young lady in a college became the admiration of students and staff alike because of her beauty. She became so close to boys and girls not noticing the danger ahead. Her friend on seeing her unguarded relationship with the opposite gender warned her, but she failed to listen. Unfortunately, she became pregnant and had to drop out from school, with her education disrupted and her classmates graduating before her.

Naturally, sheep are attractive and harmless, thereby making them vulnerable to predators like wolves and other wild animals. Christian youths are like sheep which are humble and harmless but are exposed to danger of the devil and his agents. Hence the need for them to be watchful and prayerful because, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal and to kill, and to destroy…” (John 10:10a). Problems may arise if Christian leaders are not available to mentor and watch over the youths. Hence, Christian youths should seek to stay under the protective care of good watchmen and also avoid bad associations that can make them vulnerable to predators.
QUOTE: Need for them to be watchful.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, deliver me from evil in Jesus’ name.
CHALLENGE: Watch and pray.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
