40He that receiveth you receiveth me, and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.

Message
Have you ever wished you could get a prize for doing well at school or perhaps earn a big trophy for a sporting achievement? How disappointed we feel when we have worked and trained as hard as everyone else, but we go home with nothing to show. Always remember: rewards for achievement on earth do not last forever. But there is something far better. Jesus said that if we give even just a cup of water to someone, we will be rewarded.

There are some seemingly insignificant things that we can do to make Jesus happy and attract His reward. For example, a little deed of kindness as giving water to a child who is thirsty. Others include:
i Giving to the needy- clothes, pens, shoes, pencils, erasers, notebooks etc. with the permission of your parents.
ii Teaching the younger ones how to do sums and read their text books
iii Sharing your food with a hungry child
iv Visiting and giving flowers to a sick child
v Praying for leaders, children who are suffering
vi Helping the elderly with their chores
vii Offering words of comfort to those who are sad.

Prayer for today: Lord, make me a doer of rewardable service.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
