Text: 1 Corinthians 6:1-10
1Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?
3Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
4If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.
5I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?
6But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.
7Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?
8Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.
9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,
10Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Message
Recently, a prominent Orthodox Church was dragged to the court by the Old Student’s Association of the school owned by the church. It was a case of the true ownership of the land presently occupied by the school claimed to be purchased by the Old Students Association of the school many decades ago but was secretly converted to church property. Disputes and disagreements will occur from time to time among believers, but God’s word says it is unacceptable for believers to take these disagreements to a secular court to be resolved. All disagreements between believers are to be taken to other respected believers to be resolved. The Bible is not however, against the courts of the land as they are appointed by God to serve legitimate and beneficial purposes in the society.

The biblical pattern for resolving conflicts among believers is for parties to meet and resolve issues; where that fails a third party is involved and if there are still issues parties are to approach the leaders of the church for peaceful resolution. Dear youth, follow peace with your brothers and sisters.

Prayer for today: Lord, help me to seek peace and not to take my fellow believer to court.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
