Topic: Wisdom – A Great Possession
Text: Proverbs 4:5-10
5Get wisdom, get understanding: forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth.
6Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.
7Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
8Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her.
9She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.
10Hear, O my son, and receive my sayings; and the years of thy life shall be many.
Key Verse: “Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7
Message
In life, we often categorize things into two groups: the essential and the non-essential. Some are super important for our happiness and health, while others are not as important. In our walk with God, wisdom is the key – it is like a valuable treasure! But what exactly is wisdom? It is about making smart choices, being kind, and doing what is right. When we have wisdom, we make good decisions, treat others well, and learn from our mistakes. It is like having a special guide through life. So, how do we get wisdom? We can ask God for it. He loves giving us wisdom when we ask.

We can also read the Bible regularly, listen to wise people like our parents and teachers, and put into practice what we learn. Remember, wisdom is a valuable treasure. Every believer must go after it and use it to make his life and the world around him better.

Prayer for today: Oh God, please make me a wise child
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
