Topic: Search For Special Assistants

Text: Daniel 1:3-7

3And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes;

4Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans.

5And the king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might stand before the king.

6Now among these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:

7Unto whom the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to Azariah, of Abednego.

Key Verse: “And the king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes’’ (Daniel 1:3).

Message

Every organization has a leader, an arrow-head, who directs her affairs. And as no man is an island, every leader needs assistants, able men and women who will bear organizational burdens with him. That brought about titles like assistant, deputy and vice. The king of Babylon needed wise men to help him in the day to day running of his kingdom.  The Great Commission needs more labourers and you can be enlisted if you are qualified. Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:2 to get able men and commit the gospel work into their hands. To be qualified, you need to first belong to the Lord through repentance from sin and faith in Him. God will not allow a hireling in His sheepfold. He needs special, willing, able, equipped and ready assistants who will produce acceptable fruits in its due season.

Quote: Equipped and ready assistants

Challenge: Will God find you a willing assistant?

Prayer for today: Lord, make me a dependable hand in Your Vineyard.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
