Topic: Your Gift Is For Service

Text: 1 Peter 4:8-11

8And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.

9Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

10As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.

11If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Key Verse: “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10

Message

Ever thought about why God gives us gifts? Well, it is because He knows how amazing every single one of us is. He carefully selects these special talents and abilities just for you because He wants to see you shine brightly and make a positive impact on the world around you. So, whether it is your ability to sing, draw, or any form of creativity, we should not boast about it, but instead, use it to help others and make God happy.

As friends of Jesus, we should keep in mind that God rescued us from sin and gave us gifts to help others. We should not use our gifts for bad things. Every day, we should thank God for our gifts and make Him happy by spreading His love everywhere we go!

Activity: Think about your talents, and recognize any you have not used well. Apologize to God for this, and ask Him to help you use your talents to serve in His house.

Further Reading: 1 Corinthians 12:4-7

Prayer for today: God, please guide me in using my gifts to help others and spread Your love to everyone around me.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
