DCLM Higher Everyday 7 January 2026 — Salvation Or Nothing
DCLM Higher Everyday 7 January 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Salvation Or Nothing
Topic: Salvation Or Nothing
Text: 2 Chronicles 7:14-16
14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
15Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.
16For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually.
Key Verse: “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14).”
Message
Salvation is the believer’s first Christian experience that cannot be substituted for anything. Our text reveals that God talks to people who have relationship with Him. In a time of adversity, as a believing youth, there is the need to humble yourself and go to God in prayer to seek His face for divine solution. One should look inward as a child of God, if there is need for spiritual self-examination- “Search me, O God, and know my heart …” (Psalm 139:23). God answers prayers when the heart is pure and free from sin.

If you also keep your body which is the temple of God pure, He will dwell there permanently. Looking elsewhere for a solution is a waste of time, and path to destruction or eternal damnation. If you are a sinner, turn to Jesus for the salvation of your soul which He purchased on the Cross of Cavalry. It is free but indispensable – “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Challenge: Come to God through Jesus Christ today.
Prayer for today: Oh Lord Jesus, save my soul.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
