Text: 2 Timothy 4:1-7
1I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;
3For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.
5But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry.
6For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.
7I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Message
Rose’s mom bought a box of matches so she could have her gas cooker lit whenever she needed to cook. But surprisingly the matches in the box could not strike to give her fire for her gas. She was so disappointed that she had to trash it, because it could not meet the purpose of its purchase. Ecclesiastes 12:13b says “Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.” There is a reason why God created man; it is to fear Him and obey all His commandments.

To fear the Lord, you must depart from your sin and serve the Lord with all your heart and your soul. Then you begin to obey His commandments.
– Love the Lord with ally our hearts and serve Him only.
– Tell other people: your siblings, parents, friends, neighbours about the love of Jesus so they can also fulfil the purpose of their creation.
– Love all the people around you and treat them the way you would want to be treated.
Any boy or girl who does not fulfil the major purpose of his/her creation will be thrown into outer darkness just like the useless matches. The main reason why you are created is to serve God. Every other achievements are additional, start to fulfil God’s purpose for your life from today.

Prayer for today: Dear Father, help me to live to fulfil Your purpose for my life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
