19Quench not the Spirit.

Message

Our Bible passage has some important commandments for all friends of Jesus. Number one of these commandments is “Rejoice evermore.” What does it mean to rejoice? It means to be happy, be delighted and to be joyful. It is a kind of Joy that comes from the innermost part of the heart. God commands us to rejoice always because He has made all things available to us. We need to rejoice and thank Him always for His goodness.

When you develop the attitude of rejoicing always then it will be easy for you to obey all the other commandments in the passage:
– Praying without ceasing – praying always will attract God’s attention to supply all your needs.
– In everything give thanks – your heart should always be filled with gratitude and thanksgiving to God. He deserved all the praises we can offer to Him.
– Quench not the spirit – beat alert at all times.
– Prove all things and hold fast that which is good
– Abstain from all appearance of the devil. You must run away from all objects of temptations.

Obedience to all these instructions will make God to answer your prayers. He will preserve you, body, soul and spirit till He comes to take you to heaven.

Prayer for today: Lord, give me the grace to rejoice always.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
