DCLM Higher Everyday 5 March 2026 — The Great High Priest
DCLM Higher Everyday 5 March 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — The Great High Priest
Topic: The Great High Priest
Text: Hebrews 4:12-16
12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
14Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
15For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
16Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Key Verse: Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession” (Hebrews 4:14).
Message
“In the Old Testament, the office of the high priest was highly esteemed. He was appointed to offer sacrifices unto God on behalf of the people. He entered into the holy of holies once every year to offer sacrifice for his sins first and then, the sins of the congregation. However, our text today reveals to us the heaven-appointed, sinless and superior high priest, who is greater than any other high priest, Jesus Christ – the great high priest who atoned for the sins of humanity once and for all through His blood and then departed to heaven.

And now you can come boldly before God to obtain pardon and mercy as a sinner, find grace for righteous living as a believer, and receive help for your soul, spirit, and body through Jesus’ sacrifice.
Quote: Come boldly before God to obtain pardon
Challenge: Come to God through the Great High Priest.
Prayer for today: Dear Jesus, I hold on to you; give me the grace for a godly life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
