DCLM Higher Everyday 10 July 2026 — Receiving In Christ’S Unfailing Name

DCLM Higher Everyday  10 July 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Receiving In Christ’S Unfailing Name

Topic: Receiving In Christ’S Unfailing Name

Bible Reading: John 14:13-14 (KJV)

KEY VERSE: if ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it” (John 14:14).

Message

The concept of receiving things on the bill of other people, especially when coming through well-respected and connected individuals is not new. This is even more relatable when a king or a president gives an order for things to be given to people in his name. It is like having a blank cheque, signed by a rich account holder, who has more than what the receiver requires to meet his or her need.

In our text, Jesus says He will do whatsoever we ask in His name. That is definitely a blank cheque with guarantee from the Lord who controls all the resources in heaven and earth. Think about it, whether your need is wisdom to excel in your school work or school fees to ensure you are not sent out of school or whatsoever, as long as your request will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ, Jehovah God will grant it. All you need is a firm relationship with His Son, Jesus. Approach His throne of grace with your request – big or small, and you are guaranteed an answer.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Holy Father, help me to trust You for all my needs.

CHALLENGE

It is not just crying, ask in Jesus’ name.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
