DCLM Higher Everyday 14 July 2026 — Reflect The Glory Of God
Topic: Reflect The Glory Of God
Bible Reading: Matthew 5:13-16 (KJV)
13Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
KEY VERSE: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16).
Message
Your life as a believer must reflect the glory of God by letting your light shine before men. Originally, God made man in His own image after His likeness (Genesis 1:26, 27). For Christians to reflect the glory of God, they must live a God-honouring life, depicting His character of love, kindness, moral integrity, holiness and justice. Moreover, they must worship God, using their gifts to please Him and serve humanity in faithfulness. In line with God’s word, do good to those who hate you and pray for those who persecute you as a way of reflecting the glory of our Father who is in heaven.
Being a young believer, it is your duty to influence the lives of other youths around you positively. You can be a good example to your peers by demonstrating practical holiness and overcoming sin. You are expected to be a pattern for the world. Corrupt or immoral behaviour is not supposed to be traced to any true child of God. The journey to life that reflects God’s glory begins with salvation.
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Lord, let my life always radiate Your glory in Jesus’ name.
CHALLENGE
Be a light that reflects God’s glory.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
