DCLM Sincere Milk 4 September 2026 — A Present To God

DCLM Sincere Milk  4 September 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — A Present To God

Topic: A Present To God

Bible Reading: Romans 12:1-3 (KJV)

1I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

3For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

KEY VERSE: “… that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1b

Message

Everyone likes to receive a gift. Even the richest person on earth will be happy to receive a present. Gifts are really appreciated particularly when it meets the need of the one who receives it; that is, if it is what the person has been desiring to have. It is common to give presents to your friends and siblings, but the last person you imagine you can ever give something to is God. We often feel God is too rich. He owns everything in heaven and on earth: what can we give to Him? God desires a present from you: your heart and your whole body.

Give Him your heart: your thoughts and motives, your mouth: your words and songs, your hand: what you touch and take, your eyes: what you watch and delight to see, your legs: where you go to and how you play, your ears: the music you enjoy and the words you hear. Give everything about your body as a present to God. Make all a living, holy, acceptable and reasonably present to God. Your body is not your own, it is God’s. He made you in His own image. You can only please Him when you conform to His image of righteousness and holiness. God is expecting a present from you. Pray and submit your body to Him, promising Him that you will not say and do anything that can defile your body.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Lord, I promise, that with Your help, I will keep my whole body clean and pure for Your glory.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
