DCLM Sincere Milk  2 November 2026 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Divine Assurance Of Help

Topic: Divine Assurance Of Help

Bible Reading: Isaiah 41:13-16 (KJV)

13For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

14Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.

15Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat them small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.

16Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD, and shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

KEY VERSE: “Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel” Isaiah 41:14

Message

The animal called worm is a very fragile creature. It crawls in places that have high humidity – cold or wet places. It does not have any bone, this makes it very weak. Any little crush on the worm can make it break or cut into pieces. However, God promised to take hold of a fragile worm-like friend of Jesus like Jacob and turn him/her to “… a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth:” that will be able to thresh (beat down) the mountains.

Only God can do this. This illustration is a practical testimony of how God can take a very weak child and turn him/her into a mighty conqueror and a great achiever. This was demonstrated in the life of (i) David, a young boy who killed a lion and a bear with bare hands (1 Samuel 17:34,35). (ii) Timothy who was naturally a timid (fearful) young boy that he eventually became a Pastor of the Ephesian Church (2 Timothy 1:6-7). (iii) Esther who was helped by God to become a queen and was able to face the king to make request after 3 days of fasting and prayer.

Do you sometimes feel weak? Do you think you will fail your exams because you are afraid of some subjects? Are you afraid that your parents may not be able to pay your school fees and you may stop going to school? Are you worried about whether you will continue to get food to eat every day because your parents are poor or because you have no parent to care for you? Cheer up! God has a plan and a promise for you; “Fear not, … I will help thee, …”. God expects you to put your trust in Him by giving your life to Jesus, pray to Him always and obey His word daily. You will never fail. Amen.

PRAYER FOR TODAY

Almighty Father, I put all my trust in You, help me never to fall or fail.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
