TOPIC: THE TRUTH ABOUT TRINITY
TEXT: 1 JOHN 5:1-7
1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
MEMORY VERSE: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (1 JOHN 5:7).
MESSAGE:
Parley P. Pratt said, “There is only one living and true God…, consisting of three persons – the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. It is painful to the human mind to be compelled to admit, that such wonderful inconsistencies of language or ideas, have ever found place in any human creed. Yet, so it is.”
Human beings live in a three-dimensional world where one person may look, behave or even sound like someone else, yet they are distinct individuals. The Godhead is clearly revealed during the baptism of Christ by John the Baptist, when He came out of the water and the Spirit descended upon Him like a dove with the Father’s voice from Heaven affirming His Sonship.
Many people do not believe in the Trinity doctrine: God the Son, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit being only one God because of their carnal minds. The Trinity of the Godhead is a mystery that transcends human mind, but easily understood by those who are spiritual.
This doctrine is clearly revealed to man right from the beginning: “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness…” (Genesis 1:26). Draw closer to God and He will reveal Himself to you.

CHALLENGE: The Godhead is seen right from creation.
PRAYER: Lord, give your people wisdom to see the truth of the Trinity.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
