TOPIC: Masturbation Is A Sin [Open Heaven for Teens 22 February 2022]
MEMORISE: For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad. Mark 4:22
READ: Ephesians 5:5,11-12
5 For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Ephesians 5:
- And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
- For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 4:21-41, Numbers 7:1-89
MESSAGE:
It’s true that the word masturbation is not in the Bible but it clearly states that lust is a sin. Masturbation violates God’s standard of sexuality and promotes iniquity. I once heard a preacher say masturbation is not a sin because it is not committed in the body but outside the body. I was shocked because this is a clear deviation from the truth of God’s word. Sin is sin, no matter how the world paints it. Let no one deceive you and destroy your life, masturbation is rooted in the lust of the flesh which can come through impure thoughts from obscene pictures, movies, social media and pornography. Masturbation thrives in secrecy and is very addictive.
The sin of masturbation subtly kills its victim through guilt and shame which makes him/her distance himself/herself from God. If you masturbate, I want you to know that you can overcome it. Start by opening up to a spiritual leader for counselling. You also have to delete every outlet of temptation such as pornographic sites, X-rated movies and pictures from all your gadgets. Renew your mind daily with the word of God. Your victory will come gradually but surely.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please break every stronghold of evil addictions over my life, in Jesus name.
HYMN: I Am Thine O Lord
- I am Thine, O Lord, I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.
Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where Thou hast died;
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.
- Consecrate me now to Thy service, Lord,
By the pow’r of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine. - Oh, the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend! - There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till I cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
