TOPIC: THE TRINITY IN ACTION
TEXT: 1 JOHN 5:6-8
6 This is he that came by water and blood, even Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth.
8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
Key Verse: “For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one” (1 John 5:7).
MESSAGE:
The Trinity refers to the three persons of the Godhead; God who is the Father, His Son, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. This does not mean that there are three Gods. They are three separate and distinct personalities perfectly united in one.
The unity and the work of the Trinity are clearly seen in the Bible, in the creation of the earth, divine conception and birth of Jesus, and all through His ministry. Again, the work of our redemption accomplished by Jesus Christ was a joint venture with God the Father and the Holy Ghost.
When Jesus Christ was about to begin His earthly ministry, He went to John the Baptist to be baptized, in fulfilment of the scriptures. At the baptism scene, the Holy Ghost appeared in bodily form as a dove upon Jesus Christ, and God Himself made a public declaration and confirmation that Jesus is His beloved Son, In whom He is well pleased. We can see the Trinity in operation, and in unity, showing that the Personalities are one.
As believers, by faith, we believe in the testimony of the scriptures so that we can enjoy the benefits we have in the Trinity. If you are not yet a friend of Jesus, you can do so by confessing your sins to Jesus, asking Him to forgive you and cleanse you with His blood. The blessings of the Trinity can now become yours.
Prayer: Oh God, help me to enjoy all the benefits of the Trinity.

1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
