THE MARRIAGE SUPPER
TEXT: REVELATION 19:1-9
2 For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.
3 And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.
4 And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.
5 And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.
6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.
7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.
8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
MEMORY VERSE: “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God” (REVELATION 19:9).
In 1984, Brother Yun fasted (without food and water) for 74 days in Nanyang Security Prison, in China. He became very tiny. He could not stand and everyone thought he would die. His first meal was the Lord’s Supper when his family visited him. The Lord’s Supper is a regular Christian ceremony (Matthew 26:26-28).
That day, he was beaten by prison officers and mocked by his cellmates. Then, the Holy Spirit came upon Him. He stood and preached Jesus. All the criminals surrendered to the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
Supper is next to night rest after the day’s labour. Christ will host a supper with saints who will partake in the rapture to meet Him. It is called the Marriage Supper because it marks the union of saints with the Master and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Qualification for the Marriage Supper is righteousness, symbolised by “clean and white fine linen.” What a joy to be a partaker in that glorious ceremony! Those who miss the rapture will be tortured as the Antichrist reigns on earth. Do not delay, repent and surrender your life to Jesus today.
QUOTE: What a joy to be a partaker!
CHALLENGE: Be ready for the rapture.
PRAYER: Oh Lord, wash me from sin.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
