Message
Victor has just been admitted into one of the best high schools in his state. He was anxiously awaiting the resumption date. He has been informed that the head of the school is a disciplinarian which has helped the school achieve academic and moral excellence. Victor was not surprised when a man with a big figure came up on their first assembly and spoke in a deep voice “Good morning students, I welcome everyone, particularly the new students to the Center of Excellence.” He then read the rules and regulations and warned against any acts of disobedience to the school’s rules. “If you want to stay in this school, you must obey rules and regulations, this is the only way to reap great benefits,” he concluded.

God values children respecting their parents and other elders in the society. Obedience to this commandment makes God happy and pleased. A child who wishes to succeed in life and live a long life must love and respect his or her parents. As children, we must respect not only our biological parents and grandparents, but also everyone older than us. These include our pastors, teachers and guardians as well as those who look after us.

Prayer for today: Help me Lord to honour my parents and everyone around me so that I can enjoy your blessings
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
