Message
David, the shepherd boy was ‘the man after God’s heart.’ He had small, humble beginning, but finished big. He finished his life’s journey well because he trusted God in every situation he found himself. David was the youngest in his family, even prophet Samuel did not think anything of him but God chose him. David had a good relationship with God. He knew God and held on to Him even when he had trials and temptations. Though he had many challenges in his life, David wrote the most widely read and loved psalms in the Bible. Many of these psalms show David’s absolute trust and dependence on God. Some of them are: Psalm 23:1-6– The Lord is my shepherd and Psalm 91:1-16– He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most High …

What to learn from the life of David:
David had a close relationship with God. How close are you to God? Do you relate with Him from a distance, only when you are in trouble or He is your Friend Who knows you as a child after His heart?
He was anointed to be king in Israel as a young boy, but he did not begin to reign until he was about thirty years, yet he waited patiently.
He did not cover up his sins but cried out to God for forgiveness (Psalm 51:1-19). You must not hide your sins

Prayer for today: God help me to develop a good relationship with You.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
