DCLM Daily Manna 25 December 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — A Season Like No Other

TOPIC: Incredible Answer To Prayer (DCLM Daily Manna 25 December 2025)

KEY VERSE: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord” ( Luke 4:18,19).

TEXT: Luke 4:14-21 (KJV)

14And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

15And he taught in their synagogues, being glorified of all.

16And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.

17And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written,

18The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

19To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.

20And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

21And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

DCLM Daily Manna For Today MESSAGE:

The entertainment world calls the episodes in movies, seasons. But in the worlds of weather and agriculture, seasons refer to the four cycles of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, or simply rainy and dry seasons in the tropics. However, in the Bible, the season can take the meaning of an appointed time to achieve a set purpose (Ecclesiastes 3:1). All of these definitions aptly apply to the coming of Jesus into the world so He can die as a Substitute for humanity. And indeed, none of the meteorological seasons can compare with God’s appointed time of Jesus appearing in the world to set the captives free.

In today’s text, Jesus returns in the power of the Holy Spirit. Coming to Nazareth, He goes into the synagogue and is given the scroll of Isaiah to read. He opens and reads the portion that predicts the Messiah’s Manifesto, announcing to the congregation that the Scripture they have just heard is fulfilled in their hearing.

In God’s plan for humanity, the first advent of Jesus Christ is a season like no other. Although there have been periods of extraordinary divine interventions in human affairs, the greatest remains the time He compelled Himself in love to send His only begotten Son to save a lost humanity. The purpose of Christ’s coming into the world was to preach the good news to the poor, heal people’s broken hearts, set the captives free, heal the sick, open the eyes of the physically or spiritually blind, and deliver the oppressed.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
