DCLM Sincere Milk 18 February 2024 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — A Trip With Jesus
Topic: A Trip With Jesus
Text: Matthew 8:23-26
23Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
Key Verse: “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” Matthew 8:26
Message
Victoria enjoys travelling, especially when she is accompanied by her parents. Anytime she travels in company of her parents, she usually enjoys care and protection. Her parents will buy her various items while also teaching and guiding her through the events that occur along the way. Victoria is always sad when she tells about a terrible experience she had on a trip she took without her parents. She still bears the scar from the injury she received while attempting to alight from the bus she had boarded that day. Every time she tells the story, she sobs, “If my parents had been with me that day, they would have held me and I would not have fallen off the bus.”
Life is a journey. The world we live in is dangerous and full of troubles. Nobody can afford to embark on a life journey alone. We need Jesus to make our life meaningful. The journey of life will have some stops and starts, ups and downs, but the only One Who can hold and guide us is the One Who holds the master plan of our lives. Surrender your life to Master Jesus so that He can lead you through a fruitful and successful life. Those who travel with Jesus on earth will reign with Him in heaven.

Prayer for today: Lord Jesus, please hold my hands and accompany me in my journey of life.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
