DCLM Higher Everyday 27 June 2025 — Abraham’s Kind Of Faith
DCLM Higher Everyday 27 June 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. Kumuyi — Abraham’s Kind Of Faith
Topic: Abraham’s Kind Of Faith
Text: Hebrews 10:8-12
8Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;
10By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
11And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins:
12But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Key Verse: “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went” (Hebrews 10:35).
Message
“Abraham obeyed God to the extreme, and as a result, he became the model of faith. Thus, anyone who has faith in God and is thereby justified is a child in the spiritual line of Abraham. If we trust God as Abraham did, we can be confident in any test or trial,” says John F. MacArthur Jr. Abraham’s special faith earned him the name “the father of the faithful.” Although a stranger and a pilgrim in the land of Canaan, he obeyed God to go to a place he knew not. He had an extraordinary, unwavering belief in God’s power and promises and became the father of many nations. At nearly a hundred years old, his wife Sarah still gave birth despite her dead womb because of his faith.

As a Christian, never be weak but be strong in your faith. Be a foreigner to the ways of the world and develop that deep conviction that God will perform all that He has promised. Abraham simply believed that God would do what He said. You can do same, knowing that nothing is impossible with God.
Quote: Be strong in your faith.
Challenge: Does Abraham’s faith challenge you?
Prayer for today: O God, grant me Abraham’s faith.
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
