DCLM Sincere Milk 22 May 2025 — Acceptable Worship

DCLM Sincere Milk  22 May 2025 Devotional by Pastor W. F. KumuyiAcceptable Worship

Topic: Acceptable Worship

Text: 1 Chronicles 16:25-30

25For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised: he also is to be feared above all gods.

26For all the gods of the people are idols: but the LORD made the heavens.

27Glory and honour are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.

28Give unto the LORD, ye kindreds of the people, give unto the LORD glory and strength.

29Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.

30Fear before him, all the earth: the world also shall be stable, that it be not moved.

Key Verse: “Give unto the LORD the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the LORD in the beauty of holiness.” 1 Chronicles 16:29

Message

Some children think that we can worship God in any way we want. Although God has given us the freedom to show our adoration in different ways, false acts of worship that may look good on the outside are an insult to God.

We should always show honour and respect when we worship God. Think of how you would act if you were allowed to go right into the throne room of a king or president. God is the King of kings, and before we go in to worship Him, we should prepare ourselves by making sure that we have a right attitude, and that our hearts are clean. Think of three different ways to worship God that will please Him. Write them out on the lines below.

Prayer for today: My soul, worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness.

GOSPEL REALM: STEPS TO SALVATION
1. Admit that you are a sinner. "For all [humans] have sinned, and comes short of the glory of God....[and] the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 3:23)
2. Repent now. "Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out ...[for] if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness " (Acts 3:19, 1 John 1:9)
3. Believe that God loves you and Jesus died for you. "God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet Sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)
4. Invite Jesus into your life through prayer of faith. Jesus says, "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me" (Revelation 3:20)
